On the Catwalk - Martin Maison Margiela Men's Fall/Winter 2009/2010

I always enjoy looking at Margiela's innovative runway shows. Margiela likes replicating classic pieces and adding a twist to make it fun to wear. For his Fall/Winter collection, he did several pieces with unconventional lapels for the blazers which looked great. I also enjoyed the cut-out white geometric shapes that he used as embellishments on some of his jackets. The tight-fitting maroon leather pants totally added some rock-n-roll flavor to spice up his collection. What I liked about this collection is the wearability factor. It is something you can wear anytime without looking to plain or overdressed. And a lot of his creations are artworks in its own right.
