I just got back from my trip to Tokyo. And I have to say Japanese people have a great sense of style. Whether you are in Omote-sando or Shibuya you can definitely draw inspiration from the people you see.
If you have been following my blog then you should know by now that I have great respect for Japanese designers. Part of my trip to Tokyo was to personally visit the flagship stores of some of my favorite Japanese designers. I can basically spend all my money in Tokyo but I'm glad I was able to control myself. I guess I will have to go back by the end of the year when Fall/Winter sale starts.
Since most of the stores in Tokyo right now are having tremendous mark-downs I could not resist the temptation of buying some stuff. I bought several pieces from Ato, an up-and-coming Japanese label at Isetan. Thank goodness most of them were half off. I also got a couple of items from relatively new Japanese label Shellac. Too bad I could not find Diet Butcher Slim Skin's store in Tokyo. I guess I will have to go back by the end of the year so I can avail of their Fall/Winter 2009-2010 hi-top sneakers! I guess I have several months to save up for those shoes!
Also, I finally bought a black toga leather Hermes Birkin size 35. This is also one of the reasons why I had to watch my spending because I did not want to wipe out what's left in my savings. So far this has been the craziest thing I have ever done - buying this bag. But I see it as an investment since Hermes Birkins never go out of style and the value appreciates overtime. I guess I'm just trying to justify my purchase. Lol.
Here are some of the pics from my trip to Japan.
