Korean designers are definitely on a roll. A couple of days ago I discovered Cy Choi, another fresh talent from Seoul. His minimalist and utilitarian aesthetic definitely validates the less is more and form follows function precepts. For his latest collection he reinterpreted staple pieces by adding unexpected details like utility pockets and infusing restrained color-blocking. Some of the covetable pieces from this collection include the button-up shirts with utility pockets, the fitted m65 with slanted bottom pockets and the quarter-length coats.
After seeing this collection, I am now convinced to go to South Korea next year! Hopefully I'll be able to pick-up a few pieces made by my favorite Korean designers!
