Rei Kawakubo veers away from her usual black and white color scheme (except for a few looks) and presents us a maximalist collection. The models walked the runway sporting poodle-like wigs, piled on contrasting tacky prints and wore exaggerated slouchy palazzo pants and slightly oversized jackets to complete the decadent Edwardian look. It may not be my cup of tea but I have to give Rei credit for continuously reinventing herself as one of the leading visionaries in the field of fashion. She has that innate ability to effortlessly surprise her minions with her collections and her F/W 2012 was not an exception. This collection definitely gives us an idea of what Elvis Presley would wear if he was born in London!
