Last February 3rd I flew to Hong Kong with my Mom and Dad to celebrate both the Chinese New Year and my 21st birthday. Yeah, right. I have been to Hong Kong before so it's not an entirely new place for me. Initially, we planned to do a bit of sight-seeing. But since most of the stores were surprisingly open we ended up hopping from one shopping mall to the next. Sight-seeing or shopping? Obviously, we chose the latter since Hong Kong is Southeast Asia's number one shopping mecca. It was absolutely shopping madness in Hong Kong. Mall-wide sales were pretty much everywhere. Wearing new clothes during Chinese New Year has been a very popular Chinese tradition. Because of this most of the stores in Hong Kong were offering ridiculous bargains to lure people into spending more and more mullah. I admit I was one of the many victims of this selling tactic imposed by the great Chinese salesforce. How can anybody resist the buy more to save more mantra? Arrest me then for giving in to the shopping temptation and committing a heinous shopping genocide!
