BONJOUR PARIS! MEN'S SPRING SUMMER 2012 DAY 4

By the time I got to my friend's place it was almost half past 6 in the morning. I was so exhausted from the Vibskov party that I forgot to set my alarm clock when I retired to bed. The supposedly short nap turned into a three-hour sleep. When I woke up it was almost 10AM. A few minutes later it dawned on me that I just missed the Martin Margiela show. I was so pissed at myself for missing the show. Very devastating, indeed. But I cannot turn back time. I just have to learn from my mistake and be more responsible in the future. Hopefully, the Margiela PR will give me another chance next year to watch the show. Anyway, I took my shower and left my friend's place. As I was walking towards the metro I randomly ran into one of the most important people in fashion in Paris. Guess who? You wouldn't believe it. I mean how often do you bump into Emmanuel Alt, French Vogue's Editor-in-Chief. I had to take a second look at her and her daughter. Then, I realized I had to run after her and confront her with my one million dollar question. "Are you Emmanuel Alt?", I said. She looked at me and said "Yes" with a smile. It was surreal. I told her I never expected to run into her in the streets of Paris. She laughed and said "Yes, you caught me with my groceries". She was beyond awesome. She was surprisingly friendly and her daughter was simply adorable. Both were fashionable as expected. After our brief chitchat she was kind enough to let me take a few snapshots of her and her daughter. It was just amazing. I quickly ran into the metro with a big smile on my face. So, I guess missing the Margiela show was a blessing in disguise. While waiting outside the Ann Demeulemeester show I briefly chatted with New York-based DJ Mike Nouveau and interviewed Danish designer Jean Phillip. The Ann Demeulemeester was indeed my favorite show this season. Everything was covetable in my opinion. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Ann is just brilliant. I particularly love the footwear and all the waistcoats! Since I didn't get any invite to Dior Homme show I decided to just hangout outside and take photos of the crowd. After the show was over I got on the fashion bus and headed to the Wooyoungmi show. The show was a bit disappointing since last season's show was simply awesome. There were a few pieces that I liked but in general the collection was just blah compared to Wooyoungmi's previous collections. The footwear too was not as impressive as last S/S 2011. After this show, I headed to the Petar Petrov show. It started almost half an hour late. There was nothing really special about the collection. I did like the color scheme and the sharp tailoring. It sort of reminded me of the popular Swedish label Acne for some reason. I ended the day with the Raf Simons show. I didn't get an invite but I was so happy when the PR people still allowed me to watch right before the show started. As expected the show was beyond awesome. I liked the presentation and everything although I admit that I'm not a big fan of the plaid prints.
