Hats off to the amazing people behind COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEK! Scandinavians particularly Danes definitely know how to organize events. It's amazing how punctual almost all of the shows were today. I started my day very early today. I picked up my VIP press card around 915AM. After getting on the two-decker bus I have to say I really felt like a VIP. It was a dream come true for press people like me since you don't have to worry about getting from one place to another. The bus left at exactly 930AM and headed to the Bella Center for the press shows. It was very on time as expected. You know Scandinavians are known for their unquestionable punctuality. The staff greeted us with a huge goodie bag and a healthy delicious breakfast! By the time it was over I felt like a couple of pounds heavier. It's amazing how almost everybody looked so camera-ready with their effortlessly well put together ensemble. I totally enjoyed the kid's show today. It was well-choreographed and the production was beyond excellent. The kids looked so cute. I just literally want to squeeze each one of them. The next show was alright. There are a couple of pieces I wouldn't mind taking home. The leather shoes and accessories are quite interesting as well. I decided to go into a little shopping spree with my newfound friend Maria from MTV Style. We bonded after the Trend show was over at Bella Center. She luckily ended up getting some really great deals courtesy of the Weekday sale. I gave in to the shopping Gods and ended up picking up a really nice jacket from one of my favorite Danish designers, Henrik Vibskov. It was on sale so it was tough to pass up. Can't wait to rock it at the Vibskov show on Friday! Still debating whether to get another pair of shoes from Vibskov too or not. Afterwards, Maria and I walked to the City Hall for the Official Opening of Copenhagen Fashion Week with speakers from the major sponsors of CFW. Some of the shows were quite interesting and some were kind of blah. But so far there's only one show that left me breathless. And it was the Ann Sofie Madsen. It was just amazing. She's definitely one of the people I'm looking forward to see in the future. After the show, everybody literally sprinted towards the bus where food and booze was waiting for us. Seriously, the press bus people was literally feeding everybody in the bus non-stop. It's just amazing how they pamper the press. And most shows provide water to keep everybody hydrated. I will be posting stuff here every now and then so make sure to check back frequently.
