IN PURSUIT OF A NEW PAIR OF NERDY GLASSES

Just the other day I realized that one of the screws of my treasured Dita Grand Reserve is missing. It probably fell off while I was at the gym. Too bad I didn't notice right away that the screws needed some tightening. Oh well I can't do anything about it now. At the moment,  I am using my old and abused Pradas while waiting for my Ditas to get fixed. I am, however, considering getting a new spare since my Pradas are on its last leg.

This afternoon while killing some time I quickly perused a couple of boutiques to find out my possible options. I want to get something similar to my old Ditas or perhaps a pair of those thick nerdy plastic frames. I have been eyeing on a pair of Tom Fords for awhile now. So when I saw it available at one of the optical shops I visited I knew I had to try it on. It absolutely fits my face immaculately. Also, it's considerably light-weight compared to my other spectacles. I also like its sleek and straight-forward design. But upon closer inspection I found a noticeable discoloration of the metal on the side of the frame. If I'm paying over 15K for a pair of designer frames, then, it has to be in mint condition. No flaws or imperfections unless it is supposed to look like that. I'm completely flabbergasted that Tom Ford who is known to be a perfectionist would let something like this happen! So to anyone interested in getting a pair of Tom Fords think again! Never compromise quality honey! After this experience, I'm definitely crossing-out Tom Ford on my eyewear wishlist!

Right now here are some of the few pairs I'm fancying...Hopefully, by next year I'll have a new pair!

Blast from the past
Photo was taken ages ago by Dimitri, owner of Spectacles for Humans, an eyewear boutique based in San Francisco offering some of the most sought-after spectacles. Here, I'm rocking the Dita Grand Reserve along with the Henrik Vibskov piggy scarf which I both purchased at Dimiti's store. It's still definitely one of my favorite pair of glasses ever. Hopefully, I'll be able to get the screw restored soon. Aside from Dita, they also carry Ogreen, Mykita, Derome Brenner, Strada Del Sole, Cutler and Gross, Salt and Reiz. They just recently launched their own line and everything is handmade in Italy! Only the best from San Francisco's finest optical boutique!
