Last Monday, October 24, 2011, Manila's stylish elite put their fashionable foot forward to celebrate art and fashion on my friend and acclaimed Arts Designer Jun Jun Ablaza's 18th (wink wink) birthday at the National Museum. When I got the invitation via Facebook a few weeks ago I knew right away that it was an event worth not missing!
I am happy to report that the black and white dress code was strictly enforced. Luckily, nobody was arrested by the fashion police who was surprisingly MIA. Most of the guests were decked in black and white ensembles while I opted to go in my usual all-black number. The debutante, Jun Jun looked fab in his Michelle Sison number with Rick Owens and Lanvin accessories (I died!). I teased Jun Jun that I'm not inviting him if ever I throw a party because chances are he will steal the show from me(unless he lends me those Rick Owens wedges). As expected, the exhibition was beautifully curated by the one and only Jun Jun! I wonder what this guy CANNOT do. Leather, feather and precious gems...what else can a girl ask for... Well, perhaps there's one more thing. Perhaps Jun Jun's adorable handsome (and Tom Ford look-alike) brother Marc Ablaza (sigh)...
Ohhh...more more thing...it was a pleasure meeting two new friends, Herbert, an amazing accessories designer and Julius, a philanthropist (naks) decked in Versace 80s (?). I totally had a great time hanging out with you guys!
Indeed, it was a night to remember for both Jun Jun and I!
Congratulations dear and I wish you the best and more feathers, more leather and more fabulous birthdays to come!!!
