Initially, I didn't want to publish this post because of the sensitivity of the subject. But after contemplating on the matter I realized that as a blogger it is my right to voice out my sentiments. And besides it's creative criticism people. I'm not here to put down anyone. For what it's worth, I'm here to challenge everyone to push their limits and set their bars high. Thank goodness for democracy in the blogosphere!
Anywho, without further ado, here are a few of the photos of the disappointing menswear show last October during Philippine Fashion Week.
Frankly, I was expecting a better show since it closed Philippine Fashion Week. Okay, the set, the models and the props were quite entertaining but I wasn't there for the spectacle. At the end of the day, it's all about the garments not the production number. Having said that there were some designers who actually presented a decent collection. A little editing would have made it perfect. But in general there were quite a number of pretty amateur-ish collections. I do hope that next season the organizers will hire someone to screen out the collections presented by the fashion designers. This way only the best will be presented during fashion week!
And to the guys handing the model castings please do me a huge favor. Stop hiring muscular models on steroids. I mean it really looks silly seeing all these buffed guys wearing skin-tight clothes. If we want to go high fashion we better start letting skinny guys work the runway.
