Last Tuesday Tod's unveiled its Spring Summer 2012 Collection at The Peninsula in Makati. Members of the press and the blogosphere got first dibs on what's in store for all you Tod's fanatics out there.
I personally enjoy presentations more than actual runway shows just because it is more interactive. Aside from the yummy treats and overflowing booze you get to see everything up close and personal. You can meticulously inspect the product displays. You can closely examine the garments on the live models. You can even try on some of the pieces if you're nice enough.
Also, I got a chance to get more acquainted with the iconic Italian label thanks to Tod's lovely Hong Kong representative who looked ab fab(absolutely fabulous) in a tangerine orange Tod's ensemble. FYI if you don't know by now tangerine orange is this season's IT color. She revealed that up to now most pieces from Tod's are  still being manufactured in a small city in Italy to ensure unquestionable quality. Happy to know that it is not being manufactured at some lousy sweatshop in some third world country! Wouldn't that be soooo wrong?
Anyway, this season I found out that Tod's strategically expanded its menswear line. Now, aside from the usual shoes and accessories Tod's will roll-out a complete RTW line- complete with outerwear, jeans, etc. Definitely a must for all the dappers out there! Even if I'm not a full-fledged dapper believe me there are still several covetable pieces from Tod's I wouldn't mind having like the handsome leatherware, comfy shoes and their masculine leather jackets. Also, this season Tod's iconic loafers will come in different versions!
Tod's womenswear looks uber chic and modern thanks to its brilliant Creative Director Derek Lam. Some of the key pieces from this collection are the machine washable suede jackets, tailored blazers, wide-leg trousers and the covetable leather tees! I am currently obsessed with those buttery-soft leather tees. Can't get enough of them. It's definitely one trend I'm not embarrassed to jump on. Thank God the Tod's version doesn't come in ginormous sizes or else my credit card would've gotten a serious beating this week!
Thank you SSI, Visions and Expressions and Tod's for inviting me to this uber fab event! Always a pleasure seeing Manille's fab inhabitants under one roof!
