A couple of weeks ago I attended Raoul's Spring Summer 2012 Press Presentation at Greenbelt 5. It was refreshing to see that the successful Singaporean label is diversifying its product line and offering a wider range of colors and cuts this season to meet the growing demands of working men and women. Most of the pieces from the collection can easily be incorporated to your current wardrobe. Also, the versatile looks can effortlessly be transformed from workwear to after-work-outfit. Everybody knows that I'm not a big fan of bold colors and resort wear. But putting that aside the collection seemed fresh and very suitable to our tropical climate. The cobalt blue jumper and the stark white leather shirt with cut-out sleeves were my favorite pieces from the collection. I would have been a happy camper if Raoul did a basic leather shirt for the men's line. But I guess that would have been a bit too much for the relatively conservative label.
After the intimate runway show I got a chance to examine the pieces from this collection. And boy I was impressed with the craftsmanship and the quality of the products. And the prices are quite reasonable compared to other labels offering the same range of products. No wonder there's no stopping Raoul's growing popularity across the globe.
Also, lets not forget about Raoul's handsome leather goods. With its minimalist design and good quality leather materials Raoul's leatherware is definitely a great alternative to ridiculously priced designer bags and shoes out there. I'm hoping those mandals from their latest collection will actually hit the stores here in Manila!
