Backlash was undoubtedly one of the most poignant shows I saw last Paris Fashion Week. In between sets, two contemporary dancers emotionally interpret the music being played by a live pianist. It was the perfect mood for a toned-down and more relaxed contemporary collection from Isamu Katayama. It was absolutely refreshing to see some pastels and linens from the acclaimed Japanese designer who is previously known for his dark avant-garde aesthetic. He even came up with bold colors such as crimson red and dark purple for his signature leather jackets. And of course, all the leather pieces pretty much come in my favorite color. Yes, you guessed it right...BLACK! Surprisingly, for some reason unknown I am particularly drawn to those delectable red leather jackets instead of the very predictable black ones!
