After dropping by Stealthprojekt, I headed to Six Lee's showroom for my last appointment of the day. Frankly, I was not really familiar with Six Lee's work before coming to Paris. So I did some background research just enough to have an idea of his general design aesthetic.
After graduating from the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 2009, the Hong Kong born designer briefly worked for the Alexander McQueen menswear team. Then, eventually, he moved back to Hong Kong to start his own menswear line. Six Lee oftentimes gets inspiration from a wide array of films and music for his collections.
Drawing inspiration from photographic artist Niko Luoma's abstract work, Six Lee fuses art and fashion to create his Spring Summer 2014 collection of varying shades of blue mixed flawlessly with whites and greys. Combining clean cuts and sharp lines with soft colors and dreamy, boyish details, Six Lee was able to produce unique, original silhouettes. Moreover, he completes the carefully curated ensembles by pairing it with quirky accessories and footwear. Indeed, the talented designer pays close attention to every single detail.
