Copenhagen Fashion Week kicked-off this season with Asger Juel Larsen's schizophrenic collection entitled "A Triple Distilled Dream". Without a doubt, it was one of the shows that I had been anticipating to see in Copenhagen. And gladly the young and talented Danish designer did not disappoint. The collection embodied the signature Asger Juel Larsen aesthetic combining sharp tailoring and psychedelic prints with a youthful sportswear vibe. For this season, Asger collaborated with Danish outerwear label Rains who did the utilitarian raincoats and Last Conspiracy who did the minimalist pristine white high top boots. Every season Asger makes it to a point to include some pretty interesting prints to his collection. For this season, he incorporated disturbing and sublime images of aliens to his collection reminiscent to Swiss surrealist artist H.R. Giger's works. The printed perfecto jacket and cape were simply brilliant. I might have to reconsider wearing prints after seeing those. But I have to admit the white perforated neoprene pieces were the strongest pieces from this collection. I totally adore every single piece specially the oversized hooded jacket and the man-dress! The over-all vibe of the show was great and the minimalist styling was spot-on. Danish duo Broke did the awesome tunes for the show. Some lucky guests like me got a chance to take a copy of the record home.
Kudos to Asger for another great show!
