The moment I laid eyes on these CDG Homme Plus navy blue culottes at the I.T. Outlet in Beijing I knew I had to cop it. It was "THE" perfect match for this Yohji Yamamoto chemise that I have been neglecting for several years! Since this particular pairing was quite out there already, I ditched accessories and wore a simple black leather bracelet from Japanese brand Klasica.
This number was definitely my way of channeling my inner Renaissance man. All I'm missing is a fake wig and perhaps a tailcoat to complete the look! Culottes, according to Wikipedia, are an item of clothing, originally the knee-breeches, commonly worn by gentlemen of the European upper-classes from the late Middle Ages or Renaissance through the early nineteenth century. The modern version is more relaxed in fit and less constricting in motion. In short, it's more breathable for the package! Actually, it's very comfy. The only problem I have with these easy breezy CDG Homme Plus version is the lack of compartments. I just wish Rei placed some functional side pockets! Then, it would have been perfect!
Anyway, check out the full ensemble I wore in Tokyo during Fashion Week. Thank you Fashionsnap for the photo!
