This gender-bending patchwork man dress is definitely one of my favorite pieces from Rick Owen's SS15 Faun Collection. Several people might disagree but in my opinion Faun is one of Rick's strongest collections to date. I love how he brilliantly gave a modern and futuristic twist to primitive silhouettes by incorporating interesting cuts and fabrics to the ensembles. Splashes of colors, intricate embroidery, washed-out denim and bondage were all seamlessly fused into this collection. Not to mention the over-the-top styling and make-up at the show.

Instead of pairing my Faun top with a pair of shorts or trousers, I went out of my comfort zone and opted to wear a drapey skirt. And completed the look with a pair of gladiator sandals. Surprisingly, the combination worked-out. Although, I did get my fair share of stares while taking the metro that day.

It can be tricky to wear feminine pieces because you might end up looking like a tranny. But with the right styling and accessories you can definitely butch it up a bit. Editing is the key in achieving a look that is stylish yet organic. Trial and error is still your best friend when figuring out what to wear. And I never really follow any set of rules because more often than not I somehow tend to break them.
