Every season I always look forward to seeing Henrik Vibskov's conceptually-themed grand production. It has been the tradition of the Danish designer to incorporate his oftentimes quirky collection to a theatrical art performance complete with an elaborate art installation and a strong musical score. And his SS16 collection entitled “The Hot Spray Escape” was no different. Inspired by the current alarming temperature conditions of our natural landscapes, Vibskov's collection mirrored the daily struggles that humans experience in order to survive.
In the middle of the runway, performance artists with covered faces were pantomiming as models walked their way around them. In true Scandinavian fashion, the garments were generally in loungey, oversized fit with sharp tailoring. And as always, Vibskov never fails to inject humor to his garments as seen on various graphic prints scattered throughout the collection.
